Anaesthesia for newborns and young infants requires an additional level of specialist expertise. Our anaesthetists have experience in neonatal anaesthesia and the perioperative care of newborns and young infants, including patients requiring surgery for complex congenital and medical conditions.
Our tertiary-level experience provides an understanding of the particular physiological challenges involved in caring for neonates, including airway management, temperature regulation, fluid balance, cardiovascular and respiratory physiology, and postoperative care.

Children presenting for surgery may have significant underlying medical conditions, complex congenital abnormalities or previous surgical and anaesthetic histories.
